Ok, I desperatly need help thinking up of a better title for this. This was my final project from Painting I last December 2003. I hadn't uploaded because I honetly didn't know I hadn't. I just realized it right now, looking through my files.
The theme of it is the war in Iraq. It's based on a collage I did, which I'll post when I find it. In it, there are words or images representing what I consider to be the "American" invasion. The words are falling from planes into the desert below and the smoke in the distance represents oil refineries. At the time of the painting, oil was one of the reasons for the war.
I'm not really a fan of political or social themed artwork but it was for the class and I think it came out well. I especially love the texture that it has, although it might not be so visible.
